RORC Easter Challenge

About RORC Easter Challenege

This is the Official training regatta and Season Opener of RORC (the Royal Ocean Racing Club). This regatta is run from Cowes on the Isle of Wight, Solent, over the Easter Weekend. Racing takes place on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday.

The Easter Challenge is a unique event: RORC employ some of the best sailing coaches in the UK (those who have been responsible for countless Olympic medals and world championship wins) to watch and film the competing boats and crews during racing each day before presenting a full, insightful, constructive and frequently hilarious video de-brief on-shore after racing.

You may be rubbing shoulders with some of the best teams from our sport at the Easter Challenge but the playing field is completely level. There is superb camaraderie between the competing crews at this event. Every single team is there with one key objective: to learn how to get the boat going fast and in the right direction! Winning is often of secondary importance.

There is always a fantastic attitude on the dock pre and post-race at this regatta: you are likely to pick up as many learning points from your fellow competitors here as you will on the water and you will undoubtedly make many new yachting friends at this event.
