Motion Yacht Charters located in Port Hamble Marina, which is close to the mouth of the Picturesque River Hamble. With Thousands of visitors every year, this busy marina is popular with racing enthusiasts and cruising vessels look for a vibrant atmosphere.

Port Hamble Marina

Hamble Village is 2 minute walk from Port Hamble Marina and has a number of shops, eating places and Yacht Clubs.

As well as inviting pubs and restaurants, Hamble is one of the most famous sailing locations in the world with many industry suppliers and famous Yacht Clubs, like Royal Southern and RAF based there.

The sailing opportunities are endless with easy access to Southampton waters, Solent and Isle of Wight. For the more adventurous sailors there is the West Country and spectacular scenery along the Cornish coast.


Port Hamble Marina has free onsite parking, chandlery, laundry facilities, free WIFI and excellent shower and WC facilities.

There is also an onsite bar and restaurant, Banana Wharf, overlooking the water, open from 9am till late (8.30am at weekends). We can arrange a table for when you arrive in Port Hamble or throughout your charter. Please click here to view the menu.

How to Port Hamble Marina by Road

Port Hamble Marina, Satchell Lane, Hamble-le-Rice, SO31 4QD

From the M3, join the M27, eastbound for Portsmouth. Turn off at junction 8 and follow signs for Southampton East/Hamble. Follow signs for Hamble on the B3397. You will pass Tesco’s on your left-hand side. Continue along Hamble Lane for approximately 3 miles, over the railway bridge and towards Hamble village. When you reach Hamble village there is a mini-roundabout. Turn left into Satchell Lane, past the bus station. The entrance to Port Hamble is 50m away on the right hand side. Motion Charters Office is in the First building on the right hand side, if you then walk along the decking to the front of the building, we are next to Ancasta Boat sales.

How to Port Hamble Marina by rail

Take the train either to Southampton Parkway or Southampton Central. You can catch a bus from Southampton Parkway to Hamble village, but it’s much easier to get a taxi from either train station to Hamble. This will take around 15 minutes and should cost around £15.


Port Hamble Marina Parking

When arriving in Port Hamble Marina, there is parking available, however weekends and regatta days are very busy therefore parking may be limited.

The marina offers 3 hours free parking however parking passes can be arranged for the duration of your charter by calling our office in advance with the number of cars and we will book this in for you.
